It’s a connecting platform that greatly simplifies the search.

When traveling with your own vehicle, especially a campervan, finding the right crossing can quickly become a headache. Each company has its own rules, its own departure and arrival ports, and tariff grids that vary enormously. A comparison site like Direct Ferries saves you valuable time by centralizing information. You enter your route, your vehicle’s dimensions, and voilà, you get a global view of what’s possible. It’s a huge advantage for optimizing an itinerary and a budget.

The overall view: comparing prices and schedules is great.
The number one advantage is undoubtedly the overall view. In a single search, we could see all options for the Germany-Sweden crossing. We could play with dates and times to find the most attractive fare, something that would have taken us hours by visiting each company’s website. For optimizing a trip, it’s a truly powerful tool.
Ease of booking for an oversized vehicle (our campervan).
Booking for a campervan can be anxiety-inducing. Will it fit? Did we declare the correct dimensions? Direct Ferries’ form is well-designed for this. The fields are clear and guide you so you don’t forget anything (length, height, potential bike rack…). It’s reassuring and prevents unpleasant surprises at the port.

Our advice: Anticipate your campervan’s dimensions (length, height): Measure your vehicle precisely, including any bike rack or roof box. An error in declaration can lead to significant additional charges at the port.
The price: did we really get a good deal?
